sometimes i wonder how many people are aware of the fact John Egbert likes cake 

how would you feel if your dad just cooked you like 5 cakes in a row

would you be able to eat all that shit

how would you feel about cakes after that

john’s cake issue was like that scene in matilda where the principal found out the fat kid had tried a piece of her cake so she force-fed him a gigantic chocolate cake in front of the school until he was so sick he was on the verge of puking 

except his dad is the principal and loves his son and is probably so proud of john for being able to eat all that cake

anyway all i’m saying is that he’s fine with confectioneries and in that 3-year-period he will likely find love in cake again

maybe he, nannasprite, jade, and davesprite will all take up novelty cake-baking in that period

maybe they will also take up baking pies and cupcakes and muffins and bread

maybe when they pick up jane and them they’ll have a gigantic bakery empire inside the ship

maybe john&friends will become the battermages 

maybe nanna will tutor jane in the art of batterbattle

maybe the final battle will be one of bread and pies and jane will ascend in a flurry of yeast bacteria
